ABOUT US
Sekyereman Association of Georgia
Sekyereman Association is a non-profit organization. It was formed through the collective efforts by like-minded Ghanaians who hail from the Sekyere District in the Ashanti region of Ghana. The initial goal was to foster a closer relationship among these members and to support one another in times of crisis. Currently, membership has been diversified to include people from all regions of Ghana. This has in effect broaden our goals and objectives.
OUR GOALS
Efforts are now directed to improving the social conditions in some parts of the rural communities in Ghana. Lack of access to health facilities, inadequate health infrastructure, deplorable educational facilities, and lack of access to drinking water are just, but a few of the social problems saddling these communities.
- The association shall raise funds to support health, educational, and other development projects in areas decided upon by members
- To create unity and assist ourselves socially, financially, and to support and promote the interest of the Association
- To assist in educating our children and ourselves in our cultural values so as to promote a cross culture well-being
- To foster a sense of togetherness, friendship and understanding among members
- To promote our heritage and culture to the American general public
Through members contributions Sekyereman Association has teamed up with similar associations in the US, Canada and Europe to construct an Orphanage and a children ward at Mampong General Hospital. The association has plans to expand its sphere of activities in the future.
Since the establishment of this association, members and non-members have assisted in various ways to provide for the needy. Sometimes in life, a little help can change a destiny of a person.
OUR MISSION
Helping Those In Need
The mission of our association is to unite all Ghanaians domiciled in Georgia who share our values to support our communities, promote our culture and heritage and foster development in the deprived/disadvantaged areas in Ghana.
Currently the association has intensified its efforts in promoting a sense of development for our motherland. Bearing in mind where we came from, we see it as our moral obligation to give back to the communities that raised us. This has become a potent force that has kept the association alive.
We are collaborating with our sister associations in US, Canada and Germany, pulling our resources together to raise funds and support for the provision of critical social infrastructures.
